Hopperton | Harrogate

Careful craftsmanship and a sensitive approach to design were key to headoffice3’s work at Pear Tree House in Hopperton. The project involved extending and reconfiguring the existing property, linking the original house to an adjacent stable block to create a seamless new living space. A large open-plan kitchen, living and dining area was formed, along with a cosy snug, while a stunning new master suite was added, featuring a vaulted ceiling, apex window, balcony, and a luxurious en-suite with a double shower. A standout feature of the project was the requirement to replicate distinctive bands of random pebble and stone infill panels from the original façade into the new walls, ensuring the character of the building was preserved as per planning conditions. The entrance was transformed with a bespoke oak-framed porch and a dramatic double-height hallway, complete with a grand split staircase and pitched ceiling, providing a spectacular sense of arrival. HeadOffice3’s skill in blending old and new delivered a home that is both spacious and full of character, perfectly suited to its countryside setting.
