HeadOffice3 converted a secluded low-rise warehouse into 11 distinctive duplex apartments at Charlesworth House, Hutton Grove. The project involved adding a new first floor supported by the building’s original truss system, allowing for mezzanine-level bedrooms and bathrooms. To enhance natural light, special skylights were installed, and openings were created to channel light from large ground-floor windows into the upper levels. The design maximized the building’s footprint, creating a central circulation plan that ensured natural light and ventilation in every dwelling. Externally, the front façade was updated with a combination of artificial cedar cladding and white polymer render, while the existing steel tin roof was replaced with a modern insulated pantile roof tile. The transformation maintained the building’s character while providing contemporary living spaces in a quiet, courtyard setting.
