Iron Yard; a premier residential development in Sheffield that exemplifies our expertise in transforming existing structures into modern living spaces.  Formerly known as Concept House, this project involved the comprehensive conversion of a government office building into 95 luxury one and two bedroom apartments, representing an £8 million investment in the city’s housing market.

As the appointed Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, we managed the project from its initial concept through to its successful completion.  A significant aspect of the renovation was addressing major structural challenges, including the removal and replacement of combustible cavity wall insulation with safer, more efficient mineral wool insulation.  This process required meticulous planning and execution, particularly when removing external bricks and concrete blocks to access shear walls—which had to be done by abseiling down the building.

Iron Yard now offers residents a range of high-end amenities designed to enhance urban living.  These include an on-site fitness suite, private event space, co-working hub, residents’ lounge, and landscaped gardens.  Secure private parking and proximity to Sheffield’s city centre further add to the development’s appeal.  The project’s success is underscored by its rapid occupancy, achieving full letting within 14 weeks of launch, highlighting the strong demand for quality rental accommodations in the area.
