Rowntree Wharf | York

Set within the iconic Rowntree Wharf building in York, the 2016 refurbishment of flats 62 to 66 focused on enhancing the layout and usability of the top-floor duplex apartments while preserving the industrial character of this Grade II listed structure.  The design reconfigured internal spaces by relocating kitchens and living areas to mezzanine levels and converting former open-plan areas into more private bedrooms with en-suites.  HeadOffice3 secured listed building consent and carried out a programme of kitchen alterations, decoration, flooring, and mechanical and electrical upgrades to create more practical and refined homes within this historic landmark.  Key heritage elements, including the original timber beams and ironwork, were carefully retained, while finishes and fittings were sensitively matched to the existing palette.
